1. Dress Up - even if it's just a backyard bbq, dress up. It's the end of the year, so there will be kissing, and photos wherever you go. Do your hair, makeup and put on something gorgeous. Be the best you can be.
2. Don't drink too much, but drink enough ... and make sure you drink something worth drinking. The advice of alternating water and wine is a great one, so do it, but make your wine a good one. Buy the most expensive bubbles you can afford - the bubbles will last all night if you keep it cold, and so will you.
3. Canapes aren't a substitute for dinner. Make sure you eat.
4. New Year's isn't the main event - there's a whole 2012 ahead of you so save some energy for New Year's Day - start the year as you mean to go on, sleep well, eat well, exercise and spend time with people you love.
5.
Carry a SISKEN bag. With a bit of glamour over your shoulder or in your pocket, you're guaranteed to great 2012.
Happy New Year everyone!
